Soup 4 U cycling event seeks to fill Greer Soup Kitchen’s pot

Four bike routes, including one that climbs 8,000 feet and twists through Mount Olivet in Tuxedo, N.C., will be on the itinerary for the inaugural Soup 4 U cycling event to benefit the Greer Soup Kitchen.

Floyd, Hawkins recognized at annual volunteer dinner
The 2009 Allen Waters Volunteer of the Year Award was presented by Angie Waters to Minnie Floyd and Susan Hawkins, volunteers at the Greer Soup Kitchen. Both ladies have worked for the Soup Kitchen faithfully for over 20 years and were involved from before day 1. We honored them with recognition awards on February 16, 2010 at our annual volunteer appreciation dinner.
